I would apply online. There is an assessment that you fill out online as well, and that helps McDonalds assess whether or not you would be a good fit for the company.
If you do not get a call within two weeks, give whatever store you applied to a call and ask them what is up with your application. You will either want to talk to the hiring manager or the store manager. Sometimes that is one and the same person, and sometimes it is not. It depends on the volume of the store.
Since you are 17, there are still labor laws that will apply in your state. That will help determine about how many hours you get a week, since I know McDonalds…at least the one I work at…is paranoid about breaking labor laws. Once you turn 18, you will have greater value to the company, as they don’t have to worry about how many hours you can work and so on. And when you’re available.
