It can be quiet expensive considering the equipment, clothing and weapons you need to buy. I will also say that I have had the time of my life with this hobby. I have been all over the US and Western Europe with it. I have been involved in several major movies and TV productions because of it. The best part is that I have made friends that I will have for life because of this hobby. If you don't care for the American Revolution, you can do Civil War, 1812, WW1, WW2, French and Indian, 17th Century and even knights in armour. You can make anything with it and imitate almost any material. If you want an idea about unusual there is a really cool polymer clay artist, Jay King. He has a blogspot, hiddenmissives.blogspot.com. Search "Hidden Missives" and look at the cool unusual figures he makes. It's unreal. (I don't know him personally and don't market any of his stuff I'm just a fan). The clay is good for figures, jewelry (for guys maybe mini skulls etc.) and so much more. I'm sure Jay has some good links. Enjoy the search and I hope you find something that appeals.
